San Diego County
San Diego Water Filtration assesses your water first, explains what is in it in plain language, then installs the right filtration or softening system for your home. Local service, straight answers, and support long after the install.
Most water problems in San Diego County come down to one of these three. Each one is treated differently, which is why the assessment comes first.
Treated water from San Diego's three city plants averaged about 14 grains per gallon of hardness in 2025. East County's Helix Water District reported an average of 12.0 grains per gallon.
San Diego, Escondido, Oceanside, Vista and East County utilities all disinfect with chloramine, a combination of chlorine and ammonia. It is added on purpose so a disinfectant stays in the water all the way to your tap.
Most of the county's water is imported from the Colorado River and Northern California through the State Water Project. In 2025, Helix Water District's supply was 51 percent Colorado River, 29 percent State Water Project and 20 percent local.

Most people cannot.
Nobody can.
Which is why the assessment starts with what your utility publishes about San Diego County water, not a guess.
